Having trouble ordering the e-book on Amazon? Here's how to fix it.

Issue #1: Unable to purchase E-Book on Amazon App(Mobile devices)

First, Amazon has disabled the option to buy e-books directly through the Amazon app on iPhones or Android phones. This is due to a policy dispute where Apple/Google charged a 30% fee on in-app purchases, which Amazon chose not to absorb.

The solution: open your mobile browser (Chrome or Safari), log in to your Amazon account, and purchase the e-book through the browser instead. Once purchased, you can return to the Kindle App to read the book.

Issue #2: E-Book not available in your Amazon Marketplace

Second, every Amazon E-Book is linked to a specific primary marketplace. Ours is the USA. Every user account is also linked to one specific country—your “marketplace”—based on your preferences. This means that if your account is set to buy e-books via amazon.com, the book won’t be available on amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, or other local Amazon sites.

So, if you’re trying to buy the book on a specific Amazon site and it’s showing as unavailable, check other books on that site—they’ll likely be unavailable too.

The solution?
Login on Amazon.com and go account settings (Account > Content & Devices(go to Amazon.com) > Preferences > Country/Region Settings) and check which country marketplace your account is set to. Then head to that specific Amazon site (see the list above) to complete your purchase.
